Penelope is a wonderful example of the playful and colorful designs Steiff
produced during “The Roaring 20’s”. During this time, Steiff Teddies were
constant companions of both children and adults all across Europe. In honor of
these early loyal Teddy companions, Steiff is pleased to present Penelope as one
of the American Heritage Series North American Limited Editions for 2005. The
design of this bear is based on a one-of-a-kind Teddy found in the collection of
the Greenwood family from New York. Penelope is 16 inches, fully jointed, and
made from the most delightful lush pink mohair imaginable. She has beautiful
hand embroidered details and a coquettish expression, all adding to her

Annebelle (Linda)
If you love mohair artistry, then Annabelle is the Teddy for you!
This classically designed bear is based on a unique 1915 Steiff bear
found in the collection of Linda Mullins. Annabelle has a unique
mohair fabric made from deep grey wool with a platinum sheen,
supported by a mocha-colored backing. Her paws are subtly airbrushed
to complement her coloring. The combined effect is spectacular and
gives Annabelle a distinguished, rich appearance. Her playful bell
collar, made of genuine leather, is based on an early 1900’s
accessory design. Annabelle is 16 inches, fully jointed, and has
beautiful glass pupil eyes.

 Mr. President (Theodore)
If you are a “big” fan of Steiff, then Theodore is the Teddy for
you! At 30”, Theodore is the largest Teddy in Steiff’s 2005 North
American Limited Edition collection. This bear, based on an early
20th century Steiff original, is aptly named after President
Roosevelt. Theodore is made from beautiful silver grey mohair with
pert button eyes. His peach paw pads are lightly airbrushed and his
head is loosely jointed, giving him that well-loved vintage look

Based on a lovely turn-of-the-century Steiff original owned by Susan
Hoy of San Anselmo, CA, Pansy is dressed head to toe in Victorian
finery. Her lovely outfit includes a softly weathered cotton and
lace frock, a vintage looking “Pansy” pin, and a straw hat trimmed
with delicate fabric flowers. Pansy is made from soft antique-beige

Pantom (Bertie)
Pantom animals first appeared in the Steiff catalog in 1911. These
marionette rarities, which take their name from the word
“pantomime,” were designed by Albert Schlopsnies, a creative
mastermind who worked with Steiff in the early part of last century.
For 2005, Steiff North America is proud to introduce “Bertie”, a 14”
baby Pantom bear based on the original Albert Schlopsnies design.
Fully functional as a marionette with his loose jointing and sturdy

 Crystal, the Swarovski Bear 2005
Steiff is
proud to announce the creation of Crystal, the Swarovski Teddy Bear. Crystal
stands 11 inches tall and made of pristine, fluffy white mohair. She is a five
way jointed Teddy Bear and proudly wears a brilliant Swarovski Xilion stone as
her "Button in Ear." Around her neck is an exclusive crystal ornament by
Swarovski. She is the second in the series and her production is limited to the
calendar year 2005. The first bear in the series, Daniel, sold out quickly.
This series is the only time in Steiff’s 125 year history that something other
